Short Term Accommodation
Caring for a person with a disability can demand patience, time, and energy.
Short Term Accommodation can
- * Broaden the person with disabilities life experience and circle of friends.
- * Increase independent living skills.
Langdon House is purpose built home within the community of Colac. It has been providing respite care services to the Colac Otway region since 1990. It is now the location of our Short Term Accommodation service.
The house is accessible and equipped to provide maximum care and comfort.
CODA’s Short Term Accommodation staff work with people with
- * Intellectual disability
- * Physical disability
- * Sensory disability
- * Acquired Brain Injury
There are dates during the year for short term accommodation for people under 18.
Stays are individual and flexible to meet the needs of the client.
Compatibility issues between clients are considered when accepting bookings. This helps clients have a positive experience.
Staff support people to access the community and to work towards their goals.
Crisis Care may be provided on an as needs basis.

Langdon House is named after Mrs. Bertha Langdon, a long serving member of the CODA Inc. Board. She was a tireless worker and advocate for people with a disability in the Colac community.
