Short Term Accommodation
Caring for a person with a disability can demand patience, time and energy.
- Broaden the person with disabilities life experience and circle of friends.
- Increase independent living skills.
Langdon House is purpose built home within the community of Colac and has been providing respite care services to the Colac Otway region since 1990. Since the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) it has been the location of our Short Term Accommodation service.
Langdon House was named after Mrs. Bertha Langdon, a long serving member of the CODA Inc. Board and a tireless worker and advocate for people with a disability, their families and the Colac community. There are specific dates throughout the year for provision of short term accommodation for people under 18.
The house is accessible and fully equipped to provide maximum care and comfort.
Short Term Accommodation staff are trained in all facets of meeting the individual needs of people with intellectual, physical and sensory disabilities and acquired brain injury.
Short Term Accommodation placements are arranged individually, and are flexible according to the needs of the client and family. Every effort will be made to make a person with a disability stay as positive as possible by taking into account any compatibility issues when accepting bookings.
Short Term Accommodation staff support people to access their community and to work towards their goals.
Crisis Care may be provided on an as needs basis.
